Smart Guys

"I am always ready to learn, but I do not always like being taught."
-Winston Churchill

"Learning should be a joy and full of excitement. It is life's greatest adventure; it is an illustrated excursion into the mind of noble and learned men, not a conducted tour through a jail."
-Taylor Caldwell

"If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales."

Curriculum

Here is a list of curriculum, with a brief review, we are using this year:

MCT Language Arts (Island Level)- So far the kids are loving this.  We are learning about nouns, pronouns and adjectives so far.  The poetry lessons are engaging, as well.  Learning Latin vocab roots is excellent.

Math U See (Gamma)- Mom tested, Kid approved!  They think multiplication is super easy with Mr. Demme.  And Mom loves the mastery approach to math!

Story of the World Vol. 3, The Early Modern Period-  Once again, the CDs read by Jim Weiss are a hit in this house.  We love the coloring pages, maps, book links and other projects in the Activity Guide.

Real-Science-4-Kids Chemistry Pre-Level I-   So far so good.  Lots of easy to digest info and colorful pictures.  And other cool books.  If interested in what else we are using, let me know.

Hands on Recorder-   teaches the finger placement and provides sheet music for some easy songs

French in 10 Minutes a Day-  a little above their level, but we're making it work for us.

That's all I can post for now.  We have lots of other books we work with, but it would take all day to post them, and I need to get some school in!
