I love going to the outdoor market in the summer, and have always planned to go to the indoor one, but something or other has always prevented me from doing so. Well, I finally made it there today, and it's very small compared to the summer market, but as you can see below, I found plenty of stuff to buy.
I bought a free range chicken, some nitrite free bacon, a honey/olive oil soap, garlic, radishes, zucchini, onions, apples, rainbow chard, arugula, and romaine- all from local farms. I also bought some Sweet Fire goat cheese from MacKenzie Creamery- love that stuff. That will be my diet splurge this week. Got some fresh baked goods for the kids and my sis. And, I bought a glass bottle of milk!!! It's from Wilmot, OH, which is a lot closer than the milk I'd been buying from Whole Foods which comes from southern Ohio. This milk is from 100% pasture fed cows, low heat pasteurized and not homogenized. Let's hope Andrew likes it, since he will now only drink the kind of milk you have to shake! Ha Ha Ha!
I also stopped by Whole Foods to pick out some fruit and other veggies, and they had some lovely organic grapefruits and organic golden beets. So, I juiced the grapefruit and beets with some carrots and ginger I already had and voilĂ - Sunshine in a Glass! Mmmmm. Nice pick me up for a cold and snowy winter day.
